EMBASSY OF IMAGINATION THIRD ANNUAL ART SHOW 2016

May 25, 2016, Cape Dorset Community Hall ("C-Hall")

Facilitators: Alexa Hatanaka and Patrick Thompson

Youth Mentor: Cie Taqiasuk

Performers: Iqaluk Ainalik (Iguana), Ezeevalu Samayualie (Ezee-E)

This year's show was a blast! The exhibit doubled as the big reveal of the youth's new mural that spans the ceiling of the C-Hall. Great attendance, music, pride, and even a surprise dance performance in costume by Iguana and Ezee-E. Attendees were treated to three month's worth of hard work, dedication, discovery, fun and laughter all bundled into over 60 works of art. There were large drawings, multi-layer linocut prints, carvings, cyanotype prints, process work and the handmade instruments from our workshop by Jason Kenemy. Thank you Cape Dorset for showing your support for this talented bunch.

We would like to acknowledge the funding support of The W. Garfield Weston Foundation, Government of Nunavut's Culture, Language, Elders and Youth Program, Government of Nunavut's Mental Health Program, and Nunavut Youth Arts Month.
